Diurnal Saliva Cortisol Profile

Diurnal Saliva Cortisol Profile

Doctor’s Data, Inc. has served healthcare practitioners from its CLIA-licensed laboratory in St. Charles, Illinois, since 1972. The Diurnal Cortisol Profile is its basic four-point salivary cortisol test — a simple read of free, bioavailable cortisol across the day, without DHEA, sIgA or urinary metabolites.

Cortisol should peak about 30 minutes after waking, then fall through noon and evening to its lowest point at bedtime. A single morning blood draw misses that curve. Saliva tracks the free fraction and can be collected at home, so the pattern is not distorted by a clinic draw. Flattened, inverted, high-all-day or low-all-day curves help you place fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, burnout, cravings and poor stamina in an HPA-axis context.

This is the entry-level adrenal panel. Add DHEA (Adrenal Function Profile) when you want anabolic reserve as well, or use HuMap when you need metabolised cortisol, cortisone and enzyme activity rather than free salivary cortisol alone.

Use it for stress-related fatigue, sleep problems, irritability, salt or sugar cravings, reduced stamina and as a baseline or follow-up while supporting HPA function.
