Lactose Intolerance Test

Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest lactose. When dairy products are digested, it typically leads to symptoms such as gas, bloating, diarrhoea, or cramping. These symptoms result from the body's lack of lactase, an enzyme normally produced by the small intestine that is needed to digest lactose.

This at-home breath test kit will assess levels of Hydrogen and Methane to determine if lactose is not being absorbed from the intestine. The increase in gases caused by gut bacteria fermenting the lactose causes symptoms such as bloating, constipation, and diarrhoea.

Key Markers: Methane, Hydrogen, CO2

Sample Type: Breath

Turnaround Time: 2 Weeks
